Monitoring and management of the facilities of the active dams of Kozani Regional Unit.

Description
The dams of Sisani, Milochori, Mesovouno, and Pramoritsa have already been completed, and the corresponding reservoirs have been filled. These infrastructures fall under the jurisdiction of the Regional Unit of Kozani, with the Directorate of Technical Works of Kozani acting as the implementing authority.
The dams are currently operating according to their intended purposes:
The first three (Sisani, Milochori, Mesovouno) serve irrigation needs for the agricultural lands of the respective settlements.
The Pramoritsa Dam is used for drinking water supply to the settlements of the Voio region, as well as for electricity generation.
Under the current contract, the following activities are foreseen:
Recording of reservoir water levels
Visual inspections and checks, including:
Dam and abutment inspections
Diversion and intake pipeline inspections
Geodetic measurements
Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation
Result

Creation of a historical archive of dam behaviour and preventive measures for unusual events.

The actions undertaken by AN.KO as the Dam Safety Monitoring Entity (DSME) for the Sisani, Milochori, Mesovouno, and Pramoritsa dams during the years 2021, 2022, and 2023 included:
Monitoring of dam operation – collection, recording, classification, and evaluation of instrument readings
Updating of the Dam Register
Submission of reports to the Dam Management Authority (DMA)
Updating of the Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
Activation of EAP procedures, when required
Coordination of dam maintenance works and protection of adjacent properties
Ensuring compliance with approved Environmental Terms (AEPO) and renewal of their validity period, where necessary
Collaboration with Civil Protection authorities for public education and training on dam safety-related incidents and emergency response

Description
The construction of the Livadero Dam, located in the Amar Bey area on the Vrykolakia stream near the settlement of Livadero, aims to store water for irrigation purposes in the Livadia area of the Livadero agricultural zone.
As part of the project, the following are also foreseen:
Improvement of the access road to ensure safe approach to the dam site,
Construction and inspection of the dam and its associated infrastructure.
The project aims to irrigate the lowland area northeast of the settlement, which includes approximately 3,000 stremmas of arable land.

Execution of all necessary actions for the installation of electromechanical equipment of the turbine generator in the designated area of the Sisani dam construction project and legalisation of its operation.

Description
A dam has already been constructed by the Regional Unit of Kozani with the purpose of creating a reservoir for water storage and management, serving both irrigation needs for the cultivated areas of the region and electricity generation. The dam is located on the Myrichos River, a tributary of the Aliakmonas River.
The useful storage capacity of the reservoir is approximately 760,000 m³, with an average water level of around 810 metres.
To irrigate the agricultural land and replace existing boreholes, water pumping is required.
Electricity will be generated by exploiting the 25-metre head created by the dam.
The hydroturbine capacity is estimated at approximately 330 kW.
The generated electricity will fully cover the annual energy needs of the irrigation pumping stations.

Execution of all necessary actions for the installation of hydroelectric units on the interconnection pipeline of the Mesovouno dam with the existing irrigation network.

Description
The Regional Unit of Kozani is in the final stage of constructing a new multifunctional pipeline with a nominal diameter of DN300 and a total length of approximately 6,300 metres. The pipeline starts from the existing Mesovouno reservoir and ends at the irrigation tank of the Mesovouno irrigation system. It is made of steel, with variable wall thickness depending on the maximum operating pressure along each section of the route.
According to the pipeline design, two small hydropower units (SHP1 & SHP2) will be installed to generate electricity by utilising the available hydraulic head.
