Advancement of project maturity for the construction of reservoirs and irrigation network in the ‘Patatochorafa’ area of Servia Municipality.

Description
The inability to meet irrigation needs necessitates the construction of reservoirs (limnodexamenes) at selected locations, with a total capacity sufficient to cover agricultural water demands. The project also includes the construction of a water transmission and distribution network from the reservoirs to the agricultural areas, with designated water intake points.
Specifically, the studies concern the maturity of the following works:
Construction of seven reservoirs with a total volume of 250,662 cubic metres, at identified locations
Construction of interconnecting pipelines between the reservoirs (if deemed necessary), transmission pipelines from the reservoirs, and distribution pipelines within the cultivated areas, up to the central water intake points, with a total estimated length of 10,000 metres

Description
Irrigation of the area is planned through the pumping of the required water quantities from the Polyfytos and Ilarion reservoirs.
The total gross area of the region is estimated at 46,550 stremmas, covering the land areas of the following communities: Amygdalia, Ano Komi, Vathylakkos, Kaisareia, Kato Komi, Kontovouni, Mesiani, Petrana, Roditis, and Spartos.
The project is divided into two zones:
Low zone: 7,630 stremmas
High zone: 16,550 stremmas
The main components of the project to be constructed for the utilisation of the area include irrigation and drainage infrastructure, as well as roadworks.
The studies to be carried out for both sections (from the Polyfytos and Ilarion reservoirs) include:

Description
Topographic and cadastral works are being carried out for the preparation of the Cadastral File for Phase A of the irrigation networks of the Florina Plain, based on the utilisation of the Triantafyllia Dam.
This irrigation network includes water conveyance and distribution infrastructure from the Triantafyllia Dam, as well as sewerage, drainage, flood protection works, and associated roadworks, covering a total area of 54,000 stremmas.
The studies carried out include:
Topographic and cadastral survey of the zone surrounding the axis of the conveyance pipelines
Preparation of the cadastral file for the area surrounding the axis of the conveyance pipelines
Cadastral survey of the zone surrounding the axis of the irrigation pipelines and drainage canals within the land consolidation areas, as well as the zone of the main supply pipeline, for the preparation of the cadastral file
Result

Improvement of irrigation conditions, expansion of irrigated land, support for land consolidation and crop restructuring.

Technical studies for the modernisation of the irrigation networks of Ano Komi and Kato Komi.

Description
The project concerns the modernisation of the existing outdated irrigation infrastructure and the expansion of the irrigation network in Ano Komi, while simultaneously ensuring the availability of the necessary irrigation water.
Specifically, the project will include the following components:
Modernisation of the irrigation networks of Ano Komi and Kato Komi as Phase A, covering approximately 900 stremmas in Ano Komi and 180 stremmas in Kato Komi.
Expansion of the irrigation network in Ano Komi as Phase B, initially covering an area of approximately 1,400 stremmas.
Upgrading of equipment in the existing boreholes that contribute to the irrigation network in a supplementary capacity.
Integration of a photovoltaic (PV) system for energy offsetting (net metering) to cover the energy consumption of the irrigation system.
Securing irrigation water through the construction of reservoir(s) for the seasonal collection and storage of water from the Vranas stream.
Legalisation and permitting of all existing and proposed works within the irrigation network.
